BCA reported a robust credit growth of 17.1% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, with total credit reaching an impressive Rp 835.7 trillion. This growth trajectory surpassed industry averages, reaffirming BCA’s leading position in Indonesia’s banking sector.
Setiaatmadja elaborated that this growth was underpinned by the bank’s concerted efforts in expanding financing channels, maintaining consistent loan quality, and increasing transaction volumes and funding sources. Corporate lending surged by 22.1% year-on-year, while commercial loans saw a commendable increase of 9.3% year-on-year. Moreover, the performance of BCA’s SME loans demonstrated growth trends exceeding industry averages from the previous year.
“In March 2024, BCA’s SME lending grew by 13.5% year-on-year, reaching Rp 110.4 trillion, while consumer loans rose by 14.9% year-on-year, amounting to Rp 201.6 trillion,” Setiaatmadja remarked.
Consumer lending was bolstered by BCA’s mortgage loans, which increased by 11.0% year-on-year to Rp 121.7 trillion. Additionally, motor vehicle loans surged by 22.2% year-on-year to Rp 59.8 trillion. Furthermore, other consumer loans, primarily comprising credit cards, saw a notable uptick of 22.6% year-on-year, reaching Rp 17.1 trillion.
