Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno has provided candid insights into the progress and future prospects of Aguan Cs’s Nusantara Hotel project in the National Capital (IKN). Through an official post on his Instagram account @sandiuno, Sandiaga Uno was seen conducting an on-site inspection of the ongoing development of tourism and creative economy support facilities in IKN Nusantara, with a particular focus on the Nusantara Hotel.
“After reviewing various tourism-related facilities, we can confidently anticipate that, God willing, by late July or early August 2024, they will be fully operational, with the Nusantara Hotel being a key component,” stated Sandi, on Wednesday (1/5).
“We are also committed to ensuring that the creative economy center facilities, which we assessed, will be ready for use by the same timeframe,” he added.
Moreover, plans are underway to provide training sessions tailored for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Sandi emphasized that these carefully curated MSME training programs are being organized in preparation for Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day celebrations in IKN Nusantara, situated in East Kalimantan.
Minister Sandiaga reiterated his commitment to continued coordination with the IKN Authority to ensure the seamless organization of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations on August 17, 2024. He highlighted the extensive preparations undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, with a specific focus on enhancing the tourism and creative economy sectors.
“We will work closely with the IKN Authority to ensure that the Independence Day celebrations on August 17 are inclusive, involving the broader community, including MSMEs and operational tourism facilities,” he clarified in the official statement released by the IKN Authority on Tuesday (30/4).
“I have every confidence in the enthusiasm and dedication of our MSME counterparts whom we met earlier; together, we will achieve our objectives within the designated timeframe,” Sandi emphasized. The Nusantara Hotel project in IKN, which Sandi inspected, is being financed by a consortium of Indonesian entrepreneurs. Led by Aguan from the Agung Sedayu Group, President Joko Widodo personally attended the groundbreaking ceremony for this project in September 2023, expressing gratitude for the Rp20 trillion contribution from these 10 entrepreneurs towards the development of Indonesia’s new capital.
