Jakarta, April 17, 2024 – Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono announced that the relocation of civil servants (ASN) to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) will be carried out after the 79th Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in August this year.
“For ASN, the plan is to hold the 79th Independence Day Ceremony at the IKN, and only then will the ASN move to the IKN,” said Basuki in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/4).
The relocation of ASN is being carried out at this time because the housing and office buildings in the IKN will be used first for the officers who will carry out the 79th Independence Day Ceremony there.
The plan to relocate ASN to the IKN was initially targeted to begin in March 2024. However, the plan was then postponed to July, and has now been postponed again to September.
Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Azwar Anas said the delay was due to the problem of the availability of housing.
“The plan was July. Then, based on the latest instructions from the Mensesneg and coordination with the Kemenpan RB, Insha Allah before October, around September,” said Anas at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (26/2).
Anas said that apartments in the IKN would be used for the preparation of the August 17 ceremony. As a result, the housing cannot be used for civil servants.
The available housing is also not yet as planned. Initially, the government planned to relocate 9,000 ASN in the first wave of the IKN relocation. “Around six thousand. We will adjust this later in connection with the completion of the towers that have been completed, of course it will develop again,” he said.
