Jakarta, April 15, 2024 – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk predicts two points on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road that have the potential to experience long congestion during the return flow of Lebaran 2024, namely at KM 62 and KM 66.
According to Faiza Riani, Marketing and Communication Department Head of Jasa Marga, KM 62 is a rest area that serves travelers from the direction of Bandung Cipularang and Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road or Trans Java Toll Road. This point is predicted to be crowded with travelers who want to rest and recharge before continuing their journey.
“Congestion at KM 62 can be triggered by the activities in and out of vehicles in the rest area, as well as the transaction process at the payment counter,” explained Faiza.
Meanwhile, KM 66 is the meeting point of two road flows, namely from Jakarta and Cikampek. The confluence of traffic flows at this location is feared to cause slowdowns and congestion, especially when the volume of vehicles increases.
“Anticipatory efforts have been made by Jasa Marga, such as additional officers in the rest area, optimizing transactions at payment counters, and traffic arrangements at KM 66,” said Faiza. Faiza urged travelers who will use the Japek Toll Road during the return flow of Lebaran 2024 to prepare well, such as monitoring the latest information related to traffic conditions, ensuring the vehicle is in prime condition, and preparing alternative routes in case of congestion.
